What is CBD?

Cannabidiol (CBD) is one of the most prevalent compounds found in cannabis. There are over 130 Cannabinoids that exist inside this incredible plant. Unlike its more famous colleague, tetrahydrocannabinol (THC), CBD cannabinoids are completely non-psychoactive and do not get you “high.”

CBD is considered a powerhouse plant in the scientific and wellness communities because it is polypharmacological. This means Cannabidiol can potentially affect multiple different pathways in the body at once to help support homeostasis and a fully functioning endocannabinoid system.

Hemp-derived CBD has the same properties as cannabis-derived CBD, but contains 0% THC. This makes it legally available to anyone in any U.S. state, even those without medical marijuana laws. CBD has a wide variety of medicinal and therapeutic effects and is known for its anti-inflammatory, pain-relieving and healing properties.

Is CBD legal?

Yes. Rancho Organics products are made with hemp-derived CBD, legal in all 50 states.

What exactly is a “topical” and does it contain THC?

Topical cannabis applications (by law) have less than 0.3% THC. They do not cross the blood/brain barrier and are non-psychoactive. Rancho Organics products contain 0% THC. We cannot be responsible however, for ANY positive test by customers required to take drug tests while using this product.

Will I get high from CBD?

No. Unlike THC, CBD is inert and does not produce any psychoactive effects, nor will it get you high. Our topical products are designed to reach the CB2 receptors in the skin, not the CB1 receptors in the brain.

What is “full spectrum” hemp?

Full-spectrum hemp oil (FSO) refers to un-distilled hemp oil, which retains the same cannabinoid profile which was present in the original hemp plant. This is crucial because it allows the full-spectrum of cannabinoids and *terpenes present in the oil to function together in concert, resulting in higher efficacy and a greater range of healing potential. This collaboration of the full-spectrum of active cannabinoids present in hemp is known as the “entourage effect,” whereby these hundreds of different compounds work most effectively when left together, in their natural (whole-plant) state. Many hemp CBD products are made from what is called CBD isolate, which is pure CBD (often chemically extracted ) and does not contain the full-spectrum of active cannabinoids found in hemp. We believe that products made from full-spectrum, whole-plant hemp (like Rancho Organics) offer more therapeutic health benefits than products made from CBD isolate.
